An Update on the Coronavirus in Haiti
Dear Friends,
As we face the challenge of coronavirus here in the U.S., I'm deeply sorry to report that there are now two confirmed cases in Haiti. The President of Haiti gave a speech last night. The border is closed, as are schools and factories. People are scared.
We are sending funds to help the clinic in Petit Trou purchase protective gear and masks for their nurses, doctors, and community health workers. We will help them stock up on extra Clorox, gloves, soap, and sanitizer. If the virus spreads, health care workers across Haiti will be under enormous threat. We will do what we can.
We'll be sharing more information soon about how you can stay connected to, and supportive of, our extended family in Haiti during this time. We know you are carrying your own worries, fears, and uncertainties. Please know we are sensitive to that. We also know that you care deeply about Haiti, and we are grateful to keep you updated.
We will witness enormous struggles over the coming weeks and months. I believe we'll also continue to uncover the best versions of ourselves as we discern our most effective responses as individuals, and together.
With love and gratitude,
Wynn Walent
