Petit Trou’s New Community Hospital and Health Center is Open!

Last Monday, Feb 17th, we gathered in Petit Trou to celebrate the opening of the Petit Trou Community Health Center. This day was made possible by the generosity of our supporters, and the hard work and dedication of our local partners, including BCP Construction, Mayor Wilnor Pierre and his office, and our partners at the Ministry of Health. Thank you for believing in this project and we look forward to keeping you posted on what comes next.

Committees led by Mayor Wilnor and the Ministry of Health prepared for the celebration, inviting over 300 guests and managing details and decorations.

The morning of the inauguration was all hands on deck, with Community Health Workers, Locally Haiti staff, hospital staff, and inauguration committees receiving guests and putting on the finishing touches.

Jean Fritz and Jean Well, long-time friends and founding pioneers of St. Paul’s School, our partner in education, performed music as guests were seated.

Mayor Wilnor and our partners at the Ministry were pleased to receive Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aime and Minister of Health Dr. Sinal Bertrand. Their presence at the inauguration ceremony was meaningful to the community and showed what a source of hope this project is in the country.
